Malu
Pothi is a Bengal tiger who lives in Suklaphanta Wildlife Reserve in South
West Nepal. Habitat loss and fragmentation, caused as forests are converted
to agriculture or cleared for human habitation, are a major cause of declining
tiger numbers. Tigers are also poached for their body parts, which are
used in traditional Chinese medicine.
WWF has built look-out posts in the reserve where Malu Pothi lives, and supplied binoculars, tents and vehicles to anti-poaching patrols there. Helping to ensure that the park is effectively patrolled deters poachers who are tempted to kill the tigers for profit. From just £2.50 you can help protect the world’s remaining tigers by adopting Malu Pothi for yourself or a friend. Click here for WWF Adoption Click here for uk-charities.com |
